The history of cocktails: the Cosmopolitan
Cosmopolitan is a contemporary classic. Many attribute its creation to Cheryl Cook in the 1980s. The martini queen of South Beach, Florida, wanted to add her touch (and a new color) to this drink to make women like it. Well, it worked and the intriguing "Cosmo" gained absolute fame. However, a very similar recipe appears in the book Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars 1903-1933, so what? A modern martini or a reinvented classic? It's your bar, you decide.
